City Location:  Hazlehurst  is located in the center of Copiah County.  Interstate 55 affords
easy access to metro Jackson to the north and New Orleans to the south.  Hazlehurst is about
3 hours drive from the Mississippi Gulf Coast and approximately 2 hours drive from Natchez
and about 1 hour drive from Vicksburg.  Other communities in Copiah County are Crystal
Springs, Wesson, and Georgetown.






















Businesses:  Downtown Hazlehurst has pretty old brick streets with dress shops, specialty shops, furniture stores,
banks, offices, antique shops and restaurants.  The outlying area has two shopping centers that offer grocery stores,
specialty shops and larger discount chain stores as well as motels and eating establishments.  The “Old Towne Area”
features turn of the century buildings which are part of a revival of specialty, gift and antique shops within the downtown
historic district.

Climate:  Winters are mild, snow is rare, only a few days register below freezing; summer temperatures range in the 80s
and 90s; springs and falls have ideal tempertatures and lovely flowers and foliage.  Average rainfall is 48 inches.
